From Car Factories to Kars
Lawrence Hobbs
Auto-Biography
Can a book about a regular guy driving regular cars be interesting? Yes! Crashing into planes, breaking down in bear country, seeing the world, overcoming breakdowns with cigarette packs and pee, and dragging boats across Canada in winter, make for a compelling story. This is not a celebrity’s book about his Ferraris, it’s much more interesting than that!
In Auto-Biography: From Car Factories to Kars, Lawrence Hobbs shares stories set around over 50 vehicles that have featured in his life. Most are his own, but some belonged to friends, family and rental companies. With the notable exception of a disappointing Audi SUV, they have never been expensive or ostentatious.
Each vehicle’s characteristics and idiosyncrasies, along with the adventures they enabled, frame anecdotes that are happy, sad, scary, inspiring, frustrating, rewarding, amusing, and all true.
